Jill Klein

Jill Klein is Associate Professor of Marketing, INSEAD.

Jill Klein received her Ph.D. in Social Psychology from the University of Michigan in 1990. During the following seven years she was a member of faculty in the Marketing Department at Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University , and spent periods as Visiting Professor at Bond University School of Business, Queensland, Australia, Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration , Finland and The Fuqua School of Business, Duke University . She joined the INSEAD faculty in 1997.

Jill Klein’s teaching specialties are Marketing Management, Consumer Behaviour, Advertising/Marketing Communications and Marketing Research. Her research interests are international marketing, including the effects of international hostility on consumer perceptions of foreign products and ethics in marketing research. She has had articles published in the Journal of Marketing, Harvard Business Review, Management Science and the Journal of International Business Studies. She has consulted with multinationals in the pharmaceutical and other industries.

 

Andrew John

Andrew John is the Managing Director of AJK Consulting.

He received his undergraduate degree in economics from The University of Dublin, Trinity College, in 1981, and his Ph.D. in economics from Yale University in 1988. He has held academic appointments at Michigan State University , the University of Virginia, and INSEAD. He has also held visiting appointments at the University of Michigan, the Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration, Bond University (Australia ), and the University of Texas at Austin .

Andrew John teaches marketing, pricing and strategy, and macroeconomics. He has taught MBA students at INSEAD-Fontainebleau, INSEAD-Singapore, and at the Helsinki School of Economics and Business Administration. He has also taught in several INSEAD executive programmes in both Fontainebleau and Singapore, as well as teaching executives at the BLED School of Business in Slovenia and the Scandinavian International Management Institute in Denmark .

He is a past Programme Director for two INSEAD executive education programmes: the International Executive Programme (Fontainebleau/Singapore); and the Center for Leadership/Global Perspectives in Leadership programme.

His research interests include pricing strategies and their macroeconomic implications, consumer boycotts, coordination failures, and environmental economics. His published research has appeared in many top business and economics journals, including The American Economic Review, Management Science, The Journal of Marketing, The Quarterly Journal of Economics, and The Economic Journal. He has also served as a consultant to Dryden Press and Worth Publishers.

He is currently writing a Principles of Economics textbook for McGraw-Hill publishers.
